One great privilege with my job is the many places I go. I have been in 48 of the 50 states in this great country, in all the provinces of Canada, and to England! I have seen the statue of Liberty, crossed the Golden Gate Bridge, Been to the most southern point of the United States in Key West, Ice skated at Rockefeller Center in New York City while it was snowing and holding my wife's hand (that was the greatest ever!) My son and I walked the streets of Tombstone, Arizona and stood where Wyatt Earp and the boys fought at the O.K. Corral. I have seen the Grand Canyon, The Little Big Horn, Yellow Stone, Valley Forge, Gettysburg and much, much more. I love my job, (most of the time! The part I don't like is being away from my family and church family.) I have been blessed.
Today, around 7am eastern time, I stood where great men have stood over 200 years ago. Men like George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and others. Today I stood where I have never been before, In front of Liberty Hall and next to the Liberty Bell. I believe if these men where to come back and see our country and where it is today, and where the President and congress are taking us. They would be heart broken, angry, and ready to give their life for this great country all over again. They were willing to once before because when they signed the Declaration of Independence they were committing treason against the King. The penalty would be death if they didn't fight for freedom and win. As I stood there I was caught up in thinking about what pride they must have felt as they signed their name. They were signing a piece of paper that would change the world and build a country most people in the world would only dream about living in. We have been blessed to be born in this great country! I also thought about what our country would look like if we were writing the Declaration of Independence today and what names would be on it. That is a sobering thought! If the leadership we have today were writing such a document, I don't think we would have such a boarder problem like we do because no one would want to come here! Talk about going back in time! The leadership of this country is taking us right back under the oppression that was fought against to bring freedom to this great nation! Tell me that the early people of America didn't "racial profile" when they saw a red coat? They didn't worry about being "politically correct" when the were talking about freedom and liberty or the hard hand of the British Government?
I am struggling on how to end this post, so let me say this. I believe in life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness! I believe that ALL men are created equal, but I believe it because of Christ! He purchased it for those who believe and He freely gives it to those who believe. NOT THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT!!! So, if Christ gave us "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness". If God "created all men equal", then only the person who gave you something has the right to take it away! We need to fight and not let someone else like the government take away these God given things from us! What will happen to Liberty Hall and the Liberty Bell if we become a Socialist Country? There's no place for them in that type of country! What will happen...
It's a wonderful life if you know Christ!
